First AI-Based Computer Virus Discovered

The first AI-based computer virus in the world has been found, which adapts 'on the fly' to situations and works equally well on Windows, macOS, and Linux. The ransomware program PromptLock was discovered by ESET antivirus developers: it is based on an open-source AI model from OpenAI (creators of ChatGPT), aimed at locating and encrypting important files with a ransom demand. So far, there have been no mass infections: experts say that the virus currently resembles a prototype since some of its functions have not yet been implemented.
