Yoga Outperforms Sleeping Pills for Insomnia

Yoga helps with insomnia better than sleeping pills. Scientists from China analyzed 22 studies with different methods of treating insomnia. Among them, medications were not the most effective, but rather: Yoga. It adds an average of 2 hours of sleep per day for individuals and speeds up falling asleep. Walking and running help to fall asleep 30 minutes faster. The martial art Tai Chi ensures a calm sleep and +1 hour to sleep duration. The thing is, activity lowers cortisol levels and boosts melatonin production.
