Tesla Integrates Local AI Assistant in China

Tesla is integrating a voice assistant based on local AIs - Deepseek and Doubao (from Bytedance) - into its cars in China to catch up with competitors. By using voice commands, drivers will be able to control navigation, multimedia, climate, and receive news. Doubao will handle the main processing, while Deepseek will provide AI interaction. In the United States, Tesla uses the AI Grok from xAI, but in the Chinese market, foreign automakers increasingly rely on local technologies.
