World's first mirror-solar power plant with two towers launched in China

The world's first mirror-solar power plant with two towers has been launched in China. Fields of 30,000 mirrors in the Gansu province redirect sunlight to 200-meter spires, where the heat melts a special salt solution that turns into steam and drives turbines. It is said that such a plant can generate 1.8 billion kWh annually, which is equivalent to the consumption of approximately 170,000 households.
