Condom That Changes Color Idea Revived

August 16, 2025

A ten-year-old idea of a condom that changes color has resurfaced online. In 2015, a group of British teenagers invented a contraceptive with an antibody coating. Upon contact with bacteria or viruses, it was supposed to change color: green for chlamydia, purple for genital warts, blue for syphilis, and yellow for herpes. Today, the concept is spreading again on social media, and young people are actively writing that they would like such a protective measure. However, unfortunately, the project has not moved beyond the idea stage yet.
