Scientists have defeated diabetes with the help of genetic engineering - the first patient has been completely cured after gene editing. The issue with diabetes is that the body mistakenly attacks and destroys special cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. Doctors have managed to "camouflage" these cells and make them invisible to the immune system. In the future, it is planned to use genetic engineering instead of standard therapy.
