Recent studies have shown that human behavior can be largely dependent on the presence of the parasite Toxoplasma gondii in the body, which is most commonly transmitted through contact with cats. This microorganism is capable of affecting the brain, causing a significant release of dopamine - a neurotransmitter responsible for the feeling of pleasure and motivation. When dopamine levels are artificially increased, a person becomes prone to impulsive, dangerous, and sometimes even reckless decisions. Scientists estimate that about 30–60% of the population is infected with this parasite, and its influence may explain some unpredictable or aggressive reactions, as well as an increased tendency for risky behaviors.
