Volunteers aged 25-56 were divided into two groups - one drank a cup of warm water, the other a cup of peppermint tea. Afterwards, participants completed a series of computer tasks on memory, attention, and visual-spatial processing. The participants who drank tea performed significantly better on cognitive tasks. Scientists attribute this to the presence of menthol - it enhances nerve signal transmission and activates receptors related to sensory processing. To experience the effect, experts recommend having peppermint tea 2-3 times a week.
