Glacier Destroys Swiss Village

In the Swiss Alps, a glacier has almost entirely destroyed the mountain village of Blatten: about 90% of the buildings are under a mixture of ice, mud, and stones. 300 residents, 190 sheep, 26 cows, and a couple dozen rabbits were evacuated in advance, but one person is reported missing. 'We lost our village, but we will rebuild it,' said Mayor Matthias Belwald.
