James Webb Telescope Captures Jupiter's Aurora

The James Webb Space Telescope captured an aurora on Jupiter that is hundreds of times brighter than Earth's. While on Earth the phenomenon occurs due to solar wind reaching the upper layers of the atmosphere, on Jupiter it is further intensified by charged particles ejected by the volcanoes of its moon Io. This makes the glow especially bright and intense.
