Guards Protecting Statue in Dublin

In Dublin, guards have been appointed to protect the breast of a famous statue from tourists. According to one version, the idea of the bust bringing good luck came to a local guide. The tradition gained popularity, and now the breast of Molly Malone shines very brightly. The city authorities wanted to protect the sanctity of Molly Malone. Now a pilot project with the involvement of guards has been launched in Dublin. Every time a tourist approaches the statue with an outstretched hand, a stern voice nearby says: “Please do not touch.” Soon, a fence might be placed around the statue, and the damaged parts of Molly may be restored.
