AI predicts cardiac arrest two weeks in advance

April 9, 2025

Scientists have developed an AI that can predict a cardiac arrest two weeks before it happens. The neural network was trained on 240,000 electrocardiograms from around the world and taught to notice even the most subtle signs of arrhythmia. The result is astonishing - 70% of patients will receive timely treatment and continue to live. The coolest part: researchers plan to further develop the neural network, conduct clinical trials, and add the lifesaving algorithm to our smartwatches.
