USA-born Maria Branyas Morera lived for 117 years and died in August last year. A year before her death, Branyas entered the Guinness World Records as the "oldest living woman." At that time, scientists convinced her to undergo an examination to help uncover the secrets of longevity. Maria Branyas maintained clarity of mind until the end of her life and hardly suffered from serious age-related diseases – towards the end of her life, she only experienced joint pain and hearing loss. She attributed her longevity to "luck and good genetics."
