Mice Practice First Aid

It turns out that mice are capable of providing 'first aid' to their peers. Californian scientists administered anesthesia to a rodent, after which its cage mate immediately began to 'resuscitate' it: licking its nose and even pulling its tongue to clear the airway. Interestingly, during the studies, mice spent more time helping familiar peers, while rushed newcomers were not rescued as diligently.
