VIVA LA RESISTANCE
[Interesting]
February 10, 2025
British scientists have looked inside one of the Herculaneum scrolls for the first time, which was burnt during the eruption of Vesuvius around 2000 years ago. Due to severe damage, it cannot be physically unrolled, so X-rays and neural networks were used to virtually 'unroll' the papyrus. The full text is still being deciphered, but several recurring words like 'aversion' have already been discovered.
