Archaeologists from China have discovered a 3,000-year-old alcohol. The Department of Culture and Tourism of Shandong Province began the work. Scientists treated areas of corrosion and slowly opened the lid. Inside the jug, they found a liquid initially thought to be wine. Analysis also showed that the remnants of the 3,000-year-old alcohol were a distillate. That is, a drink that the ancestors of modern Chinese obtained through alcohol distillation: the same method used to make cognac, rum, calvados, or moonshine.
