The shortest flight in the world lasts only 80-90 seconds - between the Scottish islands of Westray and Papa Westray. The flights were introduced in 1967 as a fast alternative to the ferry. The distance between the airports is 2.7 km, and in good weather, pilots can complete it in even 53 seconds.
