Scientists have developed a special urine test to detect lung cancer. They studied proteins secreted by aging cells: these damage tissues and form cancer cells. Professor Liljana Fruk and Dr. Daniel Munoz Espin developed an injectable sensor that can interact with the proteins of 'zombie' cells and secrete the found compound into the urine. The team plans to continue research and possibly adapt the test for other oncological diseases.
