Elon Musk's Neuralink to Start Testing Robotic Arm for Paralyzed People Soon

November 29, 2024

Elon Musk's Neuralink will soon begin testing a robotic arm for paralyzed people - it will work in conjunction with a brain chip. The robotic arm will help people prepare meals, write with a pen, and even perform small cleaning tasks. Last week, the company received approval from the Health Canada regulator to start testing its device in Canada. Canadian neurosurgeons have begun recruiting six patients with paralysis for the study. Currently, Neuralink is assessing the initial effect of the implant in patients with quadriplegia, a form of paralysis, for controlling external devices through thoughts.
