Tourists discovered tracks in the Alps from animals that lived before the dinosaurs. A couple found traces of ancient reptiles and amphibians while hiking in the Italian Alps. Claudia Steffensen noticed unusual patterns on a rock and took a picture of them. Later, the photo reached paleontologist Cristiano Dal Sasso from the Natural History Museum in Milan. He stated that the tracks belonged to amphibians and reptiles that lived during the Permian period.
