An Emperor Penguin from Antarctica swam about 3500 km and ended up on a beach in Australia. The bird was spotted by local surfers, who then handed it over to specialized services. It is currently undergoing rehabilitation under the supervision of specialists as it was severely exhausted. According to scientists, no Emperor Penguin has ever swum so far. It is assumed that it reached Australia by following a current shifted northward in search of food.
