Drones are now paving roads in China

Drones in China are now also laying asphalt. As part of a trial, a 'swarm' of 10 vehicles prepared a 158-kilometer section of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao expressway. This is reportedly the first such project in the world. It involved one paver, six 13-ton rollers, and three 30-ton rollers working synchronously in a 1+3+3+3 scheme, completing the task several times faster than usual. While it is not yet possible to do without humans at the current stage, the process is expected to be fully automated in the near future.
