Study Shows Decision-Making Leads to Cognitive Fatigue

October 15, 2024

A study has shown that the brain becomes more fatigued when a person makes many decisions. According to experts, even regular daily tasks such as deciding what to eat or needing to charge a phone can overload our brain and cause constant fatigue. This is because decision-making leads to the accumulation of glutamate in the brain, which can reduce its efficiency and slow its operation. This effect is amplified as the number of tasks increases, which leads to cognitive overload. Therefore, we might feel exhausted despite a lack of physical activity.
