Over 10,000 high school students participated in the study. The reasons are simple: people with high IQs have more stressful jobs - many cope with this using alcohol. Moreover, the wealthy simply have more opportunities to purchase alcohol. There is even a mathematical pattern - with every one-point increase in IQ, the likelihood of a student becoming an alcoholic increases by 1.6%.
