Astronomers included 9 planets in the Solar System. In Indian astrology, there are also 9 planets. They are embodiments of divine entities capable of influencing the destinies of people and everything in the world. Each planet is associated with a precious stone. They hold the power of their patron and affect the karma of the person wearing them. Surya-Sun — ruby, red tourmaline, and garnet. Chandra-Moon — pearl, moonstone. Mangala-Mars — red jasper, coral. Shukra-Venus — opal and colorless stones: diamond, sapphire, topaz, zircon. Budha-Mercury — green stones: emerald, green tourmaline, jadeite. Brihaspati-Jupiter — yellow stones: topaz, yellow sapphires, citrines, tourmalines, zircons. Shani-Saturn — blue sapphire, amethyst, lapis lazuli. Ketu-South Node of the Moon — stones with a cat's eye effect and turquoise. Rahu-North Node of the Moon — hessonite, orange tourmaline, and hyacinth.
