Sahara flooded for the first time in 50 years

The Sahara was flooded for the first time in 50 years. It rained almost continuously for two days, and 20 people died. During these two days, almost the average annual volume of precipitation fell - the water level rose so much that sand dunes and palm trees were submerged in lakes.
