Apple Watch helped save Australian surfer Rick Sherman. He contacted rescuers through the emergency call feature. While surfing, Sherman was carried a kilometer away from shore into the ocean, where he began experiencing cramps. He realized he couldn't get out on his own. Then Rick remembered that he could call emergency services through the watch. Eventually, the surfer was lifted out of the water with the help of a helicopter.
