Dinosaur Skeleton Sold for a Record $44.6 Million at US Auction

A dinosaur skeleton was sold at auction in the US for a record-breaking $44.6 million. It was purchased by billionaire Ken Griffin, a hunter of historical treasures. The remains of this Stegosaurus are about 150 million years old. They were found in 2022 in the state of Colorado and are currently the most complete skeleton of this type ever discovered. The previous record for the value of dinosaur remains was set in 2020: at that time, a Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton about 67 million years old was sold for $32 million.
