First Launch of European Ariane 6 Rocket from French Guiana

July 10, 2024

The European Ariane 6 rocket, which was developed over nearly 10 years, was launched for the first time from the spaceport in French Guiana. The launch was originally planned for 2020 but was repeatedly delayed. The production of the previous generation has already been halted, forcing the European Space Agency to temporarily switch to SpaceX rockets. During tests, Ariane 6 put several satellites into orbit, and by 2026 it is planned to launch 9-12 times a year.
