Japan Finally Solves the Floppy Disk Issue in Government Agencies

July 5, 2024

Japan has finally addressed the problem of floppy disks, which were still being used in government institutions instead of USB drives, SSDs, and cloud services. Until recently, the country had regulations (which have now been repealed) requiring the transmission of most government information on floppy disks. This was despite the fact that their mass production was halted almost 15 years ago. It is yet to be officially decided what the Japanese will use now.
