Leeches can jump

Zoologists have proven that leeches can jump in search of their prey. During their research in the jungles of Madagascar, they captured on video two members of the genus Chtonobdella leaping from plant leaves to the ground. Reports of ground leeches being capable of jumping have appeared in literature since the 14th century, but for the past 130 years, specialists were uncertain about the veracity of such claims.
