Birth Order and Success: Older Siblings Have an Edge

April 3, 2024

A study has found that older siblings have a greater chance of success compared to younger ones. The main reason behind this is their susceptibility to diseases - younger children are more prone to illnesses and infections. Additionally, the circle of influence during childhood also plays a role. Older siblings often interact with adults, whereas younger ones spend more time with their older siblings. As a result, firstborns have higher IQ, better academic performance, and higher earnings in adulthood.
