Yale researchers have revealed that their cancer vaccine has doubled the survival rate for dogs with the disease. Human and canine tumors are very similar, but human treatment methods are not applicable to pets. Therefore, separate vaccines need to be developed for them, and scientists have come up with a way to slow down or even stop the growth of tumors in dogs. For instance, survival rates for dogs with bone cancer were only 35%, but the new treatment has increased it to 60%.
