SpaceX to Launch Private Space Station Starlab as an Alternative to the ISS

February 16, 2024

SpaceX will be responsible for launching the private space station Starlab, which is intended to serve as an alternative to the International Space Station (ISS). The station itself is being developed by multiple companies - Voyager Space, Lockheed Martin, and Airbus. They have chosen the Starship rocket by Elon Musk's SpaceX to send the first module into orbit. Starlab is expected to be operational by 2030, just as the support for the ISS is nearing its end.
