Ancient Roman Cosmetics Found in Turkey

Ancient Roman cosmetics, dating back 2,000 years, have been discovered in Turkey. Among the findings were pigments for makeup in ten different shades, mostly red and pink, as well as perfume bottles and other cosmetic accessories. Scientists also added that during the Greco-Roman era, cosmetics, including eyeshadows and blushes, were often stored inside oyster shells. A large quantity of these shells was also found at the excavation site.
