Jonathan the Turtle Celebrates His 191st Birthday

Jonathan the turtle has turned 191 years old. He is the oldest known living terrestrial animal in the world. It is believed that he was born around 1832 since he was already fully grown when he was brought from the Seychelles Islands 50 years later. It is likely that Jonathan is even older than these rough estimates. In addition, he has long surpassed the average lifespan of his species, which is about 150 years.
