Scientists have proposed using tongue twisters to determine the degree of intoxication

November 19, 2023

In experiments, adult participants were given a large dose of alcohol and asked to repeat various tongue twisters every hour for seven hours after consuming the drink. Then, artificial intelligence was trained on the acquired data with speech recordings and their corresponding alcohol concentrations in exhaled air. The results showed that voice analysis determined alcohol intoxication with an accuracy of 98%. In this case, intoxication was considered to be an alcohol concentration above 0.08% - in the United States, this is the legal limit for driving.
