The first-ever whole eye transplant surgery was performed in the United States. A 46-year-old lineman from Arkansas lost half of his face after a horrific electrical shock, and New York doctors decided to give him a new eye. The operation lasted for 21 hours and involved over 140 surgeons and nurses. Everything went smoothly, and now the new eye can even cry.
