Astronomers using the James Webb Telescope have detected a fast wind stream in the equatorial zone of Jupiter, reaching speeds of up to 515 km/h at an altitude of 40 kilometers. For comparison, the wind speed of a Category 5 hurricane on Earth is 418 km/h. This discovery offers new insights into the interaction between different layers of Jupiter's atmosphere, which were previously unknown.
