Rare Annular Solar Eclipse Observed in North and South America

Yesterday, residents of North and South America, as well as the waters of the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, witnessed a rare annular solar eclipse. This type of eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun at its farthest distance from our planet, and its angular size becomes too small to fully cover the Sun.
