Oxford researchers have successfully printed nerve cells using a 3D printer

The scientists conducted experiments by implanting the printed cells into slices of mouse brains. They integrated well with the host tissue, creating nerve extensions and facilitating neuron movement. The researchers now aim to enhance the technology to create complex multilayered tissues that more realistically mimic the architecture of the human brain.
