Outbreak of Unknown Disease Paralyzes Schoolgirls in Kenya

An outbreak of an unknown disease has occurred in Kenya. About a hundred schoolgirls have been hospitalized with paralyzed legs. Most of them are unable to walk. Preliminary tests have shown that the children have a significantly increased level of electrolytes, indicating excessive fluid loss. Local authorities are not allowing the children to return home as they fear the disease could spread.
