Accelerated Glacier Melting in Switzerland

Glacier melting in Switzerland has accelerated. In just two years, they have lost 10% of their volume - the same amount as was lost from 1960 to 1990, according to the Swiss Glacier Monitoring Network. Scientists attribute the rapid reduction of ice cover to record high temperatures in summer and low winter precipitation.
