Outbreak of deadly Nipah virus in India

India has reported an outbreak of a deadly virus transmitted by bats. Already, 2 people have died from the Nipah virus in the state of Kerala, leading to the closure of schools and halt of public transportation. Nipah virus affects the brain of the infected person, causing dizziness, seizures, altered consciousness, acute encephalitis, and coma. There is still no vaccine or treatment available for it.
