September 8, 2023

A ninety-year-old Japanese man has conquered Mount Fuji in a wheelchair. Yuichiro Miura ascended the mountain using a special wheelchair that was pulled by around ten people with ropes. In 1966, he descended the slopes of Mount Fuji on skis, using a parachute to slow down, and in 2003, 2008, and 2013 - at the ages of 70, 75, and 80 - he climbed Mount Everest, becoming the oldest person to reach the summit. At the age of 87, the man was hospitalized due to an illness that caused partial paralysis, but he still decided to climb Mount Fuji and used it as a form of rehabilitation.
