The world recorded the hottest day in the history of observations.

July 10, 2023

The world's average temperature reached a new record on Monday, July 3, exceeding 17°C for the first time. The record was caused by a combination of carbon dioxide emissions and the El Niño weather phenomenon, which is expressed in fluctuations in surface water temperatures in the equatorial Pacific Ocean. The previous record of 16.92°C was set in August 2016.
