Biologists have confirmed that octopuses can dream.

They have several stages of rest: “restful sleep” and “active sleep”, during which body parts twitch and the texture and pattern of the skin changes rapidly. The findings support previous assumptions that active sleep in octopuses resembles REM sleep associated with dreams in vertebrates.
