Scientists have found a large number of drugs in coastal waters.

They get there with human feces. The researchers took hundreds of water samples. They found more than 50 compounds in them, including pharmaceuticals, diabetes drugs, and chemicals produced by the liver after cocaine use. Even a small amount of these substances can affect wild animals, their behavior and biological structure, including causing them to change color or reproduce in a different way.
