Sharks started using scientists as cleaner fish.

Whale sharks off the coast of Western Australia perceive scientists who collect samples from their skins for research as cleaner fish. Predators near humans slow down and allow them to swim closer. Scientists use plastic knives to scrape copepods from the body of sharks. Approximately this is what sticky fish do. But unlike them, people get to the corners of the mouth of predators and hard-to-reach fins. Probably, it is because of this that whale sharks are supportive of scientists and calmly make contact.
