In Spain, for the first time, lungs were transplanted with the “hands” of a robot.

The “four-armed” robot, controlled by doctors, reached the lungs by making 4 incisions of 8-12mm. Then the robot replaced the diseased organ with a donor one. A lung transplant is one of the most "aggressive" operations, as it requires a large incision to be made and the patient's ribs to be broken. The new technology made it possible to make "a small incision without breaking the ribs".
